From Mumbai ANSA Forum ‘Vespucci meets India’A regard on Italy through the eyes of Indians ‘Vespucci meets India, from Mumbai a regard on Italy’: this is the title of the forum organized by ANSA in cooperation with Difesa Servizi at Villaggio Italia in Mumbai on November 29 for the 28th stopover of the world tour of the Italian Navy’s training vessel. It is the first time the Amerigo Vespucci ship docks at a port in India. The country has overtaken China as the world’s most populous country. In particular, it presents socio-economic characteristics that make it a key partner for a country vying for relations abroad like Italy.India has not only registered a higher growth rate even than China, but the average age of the population is among the youngest and has excellent professional figures that it exports around the world. And the in-depth analysis of these aspects, and of the opportunities they present, will be at the centre of dialogue with diplomats, journalists, experts and opinion makers that will take place at Villaggio Italia, a ‘multiannual itinerant mini expo’ to promote Made in Italy and its excellencies, launched by Defence Minister Guido Crosetto, that follows the Amerigo Vespucci vessel around the world.During the ANSA forum, guests will be able to talk about the success stories of Italians in India and Indians in Italy, proof of the increasingly dynamic development of bilateral relations. These are stories of training, cultural enrichment, entrepreneurship and social media in which different cultures have met and mingled in a fruitful manner. They often have women who have made it in India against any stereotype as protagonists.

The forum opens - at 3 pm local time( 10:30 am in Italy) to be broadcast live on the channels of ANSA.it and of Indian news agency PTI – with Italy’s Ambassador to India Antonio Bartoli, to be followed by a brief presentation via video link of the socio-economic representation of the country made by TEHA-Ambrisetti and illustrated by Lorenzo Tavazzi. The stories of how Indians see Italy and how activities are evolving in the fields of training, fashion, the performing arts, cinema and social media will be told, among others, by the CEO of PTI, Vijay Joshi, the director of the Asia centre of Sda Boccono, Alessandro Giuliani, actress and businesswoman Giorgia Andreani, Dj Olly Esse, Youtuber Giulia Raffaello, as well as Bangalore’s fashion designer Kulsum Shadab, who won the sustainability prize at Milan Fashion Week, and Dhruv Kapoor, the protagonist of a success story in fashion connected to the Marangoni Institute.
