Luciano Spalletti said his Italy side
were on the right track ahead of a pre-Euro 2024 friendly
against Turkey and said that Juve defender Federico Gatti was in
the squad for Germany in place of the injured Francesco Acerbi
of Inter and Atalanta's Giorgio Scalvini.
"I've seen the team working very attentively and seriously, you
can't put it on autopilot straight away, but we are on the right
track"," said the former Napoli scudetto winning coach ahead of
Tuesday's clash with ex Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Montella's
Turks in Bologna.
Spalletti said he will field Vicario, Di Lorenzo, Orsolini and
Retegui among the starters at the Dall'Ara.
''Turkey has quality, flair, flair, I know Montella well so it
will be a difficult and important match also considering what we
still have to put right'', said Spalletti.
The coach also announced that Gatti will be on the list of the
26 who will participate in the European Championships.
