A group of young people used a wooden
art installation worth some 100,000 euros as the base for a
barbecue earlier this week, damaging the work which is an
external part of a museum near Modena housing works by artists
of the calibre of Carrà, Guttuso e Pio Semeghini, local media
reported Thursday.
The youths piled rocks on the 'Sweet Home' installation by the
artist Umberto Cavenago, which resembles a covered boat, and lit
their barbecue at Suzzara before filming the stunt and leaving
debris and rubbish behind when local police arrived.
Police are investigating on possible charges of damaging the
cultural heritage.
Political parties have filed an official question on the
incident for the local mayor.
