After her silver medal in the pursuit
at the Biathlon World Championships in Nove Mesto in Czechia,
Italy's Lisa Vittozzi won the gold medal in the individual event
on Tuesday.
It was an extraordinary race for the Italian who managed to win
despite her handicapped start, with more than 15 seconds lost in
the first shooting range due to a rifle problem.
The silver medal went to the German Hettich, and bronze to the
French Simon.
For Vittozzi it is the first world gold medal at the individual
level, the second after the Oberhof 2023 relay.
