Italy will be able to defend the
title they won in 2021 at Euro 2024 in Germany after securing
qualification with a nervy goalless draw with Ukraine in
Leverkusen on Monday.
The tie enabled the Azzurri to secure second place in Group C
behind group winners England.
"We are delighted," said captain Gianluigi Donnarumma, who
pulled off two important saves to keep Italy's sheet clean.
"We are where we deserve to be, with all the difficulties we've
had to contend with.
"We will go to Germany to win, also because we go there as
defending champions".
