Andrea Piazzolla, a former
collaborator of late screen diva Gina Lollobrigida, got three
years in jail Monday for taking advantage of a vulnerable person
and embezzling millions of euros in assets from the great
actress' estate between 2013 and 2018.
Prosecutors had asked for a sentence of seven and a half years
in jail for the former aide to the late movie siren, who died at
the age of 95 on January 16 last.
Piazzolla was found guilty of "taking advantage of a disabled
person", a crime under Italian law, after preying on
Lollobrigida, once dubbed the world's most beautiful women, in
her dotage.
The verdict was handed down by a single judge.
