Italy's Gregorio Paltrinieri won the
silver medal in the 5km open-water swimming event at the world
championships in Japan on Tuesday while his team-mate Domenico
Acerenza also made the podium, coming third.
Reigning champion Florian Wellbrock of Germany took the gold
medal to complete a double after he also won the 10km event.
In the women's race, Italy's Barbara Pozzobon came fifth.
