The CONI (Italian National Olympic
Committee) College of Guarantees on Thursday accepted Juventus'
appeal against the 15-point penalty in the capital gains case,
but has referred the case back to the Italian Soccer Federation
(FIGC) for reconsideration.
The appeal of Juve executives Pavel Nedved, Paolo Garimberti and
Enrico Vellano has also been accepted, positions that become
decisive according to the College for the redetermination of the
penalty by the FIGC judicial arm.
The appeals of ex-president Andrea Agnelli and two other execs,
Fabio Paratici and Federico Cherubini, were rejected.
If the penalty is reversed the Turin giants will rise to third
place in the Serie A standings, just two behind second-placed
Lazio and 16 behind runaway leaders and red-hot scudetto
favourites Napoli.
