The Lake Como village where US actor George Clooney has a villa was hit by bad weather again overnight after storm damage suffered last July.
Heavy rain caused landslides and flooding at Laglio, as well as
other lakeside villages including Careno and Triangolo Lariano.
Some 80 millimetres of rain fell in a few hours in the area.
The Regina Vecchia state highway has been blocked by landslips.
Many homes in the area were flooded and roads blocked by mud and
detritus, as well as by cars swept away by the torrents of
water.
It is not known whether Clooney's holiday home at Villa Oleandra
has been damaged.
