Cagliari forward Joao Pedro and Lazio
defender Luiz Felipe, both of whom were born in Brazil and are
naturalized Italians, got their first Azzurri call-ups on Friday
as Italy coach Roberto Mancini named his 33-man squad for the
play-offs to qualify for this year's World Cup.
But Mario Balotelli, who is playing for Adana Demirspor in
Turkey and took part in a recent preparation training camp for
the play-offs, did not make the squad.
Juventus midfielder Manuel Locatelli, who is positive for
COVID-19, will join he squad after a period in isolation.
European champions Italy face North Macedonia in the playoffs in
Palermo on March 24 and then, if they get through, the winner of
the match between Portugal and Turkey on March 29 in Porto or
