Former reform and relations with
parliament minister Maria Elena Boschi blasted Deputy Premier
and Labour and Industry Minister Luigi Di Maio on Monday after a
worker alleged he was employed by the firm of the latter's
father without a regular contract and was told to lie about a
workplace accident.
Boschi, a member of the opposition, centre-left Democratic
Party (PD), came under heavy fire from Di Maio and his 5-Star
Movement (M5S) over the bankruptcy of a small Italian bank,
Banca Etruria, which her father was vice president of.
"I'd like to look Mr Antonio Di Maio, the father of Luigi, in
the face and say I hope that he does not go through what his son
and his friends put my father and my family through," Boschi
said in a video posted on Twitter.
"My father was pulled into the middle of an affair that was
bigger than him because of his surname and he was dragged in the
mud by a campaign of hatred: dear Mr Di Maio, mud slinging is
disgusting".
