Elia Viviani won the omnium in the men's track cycling Monday while Rachele Bruni took silver in the women's 10 km open-water race.
The results raised Italy into sixth place in the medals table with eight golds, nine silvers and six bronzes.
Viviani, 27, won despite being brought down by Britain's Mark Cavendish in a crash two thirds of the way through the race.
Breaking into tears on the line, the Veneto rider exclaimed "at last!" having come close several times in the past.
Bruni, a 26-year-old Tuscan, dedicated the victory to her partner, Diletta, "against all prejudice".
Bruni was promoted from bronze to silver after France's Aurelie Muller was disqualified for dunking Bruni's head under the water near the line.
