Junior Economy Minister Enrico
Morando admitted Friday that Italy's flat growth in the second
quarter made the government's forecast of a 1.2% rise in GDP
difficult to achieve.
He added that this would probably make the decisions
Premier Matteo Renzi's government has to make more difficult.
"There's no doubt that, on the basis of these figures, the
target for 2016 of 1.2% seems difficult to attain," he told the
AffarItaliani website.
"On September 27 we'll present a statement to update the
DEF (economic blueprint). At that point we'll see what the
situation is.
"It's possible that decisions will be more difficult or
that we'll have to take account of this performance for the
decisions that regard 2017 and the following years".
