Maria Grazia Chiuri is the new
artistic director of Christian Dior, the French Maison said in a
statement on Friday.
The fashion designer leaves Valentino after 17 years, of
which eight as co-artistic director alongside Pierpaolo
Piccioli.
Chiuri is to head up the collection haute couture women,
pret a porter and accessories at the label owned by the luxury
goods holding company LVMH.
"Maria Grazie Chiuri is internationally recognised and
acclaimed for her huge talent. She will give her elegant and
modern vision to the Dior woman," LVMH chairman and CEO Bernard
Arnault said.
