Prosecutors in a Basilicata oil
corruption probe are to question former industry minister
Federica Guidi again Thursday, ANSA has learned.
Guidi resigned in March after wiretapped conversations were
made public, in which she discussed an oil-related amendment
with her oil-industry businessman boyfriend Gianluca Gemelli.
Gemelli is being investigated for corruption conspiracy
and influence-peddling as the leader of a so-called "oil gang".
He has denied wrongdoing. Guidi is not herself under
investigation.
Prosecutors last questioned Guidi on April 7, when she said
she was the "injured party" in the proceedings.
The government of Premier Matteo Renzi survived an
opposition no-confidence vote in the wake of the Guidi debacle.
