A number of events promoted by the Florence Center for Italian Fashion (CFMI) kicked off this week during the 90th edition of the Pitti Uomo international men's wear trade fair in Florence.
They include a strategic plan to welcome top buyers, members of the press and international operators at the leading biannual trade fair.
Specific initiatives include special services on high-speed trains travelling to Milan, where the men's wear spring-summer 2017 fashion shows are kicking off Friday - the last day of Pitti Uomo - through Tuesday, June 21.
The events were organized with the support of the industry ministry and the Italian Trade Agency (ICE).
Industry Undersecretary Ivan Scalfarotto hailed the initiatives, saying fairs such as Pitti Uomo are key to boosting the international standing of Italian excellence in fashion.
