A Milan prosecutor on Tuesday asked for a sentence of three years and two months for former premier Silvio Berlusconi's son Piersilvio in an appeals trial on alleged fraud at his Mediatrade media company. Piersilvio Berlusconi is a top manager at the media magnate's Mediaset media group. The prosecutor also asked for a sentence of three years and four months for Fedele Confalonieri, head of his Fininvest holding company. The prosecutor asked for terms ranging from three years to five years for the eight other defendants. The sentences requested are the same as the ones requested at the trial of first instance. All defendants were acquitted in July 2014. The pair were accused of fraud in the purchase of film rights by Mediaset.
Eight other people were acquitted.
Three-time premier Berlusconi was initially also implicated in the Mediatrade case but his position was shelved in 2011 due to lack of evidence.
