National Chamber of Italian Fashion Chairman Carlo Capasa said Monday there's a "new energy" at Milan men's fashion week as the entered its fourth day.
Capasa credited the Expo world's fair and "the gifts Prada
and Armani have made to the city" - a reference to new
exposition spaces Fondazione Prada and Armani Silos.
Armani himself is Expo Special Ambassador for Fashion.
Milan Men's Fashion Week follows on the heels of Pitti
Uomo, the four-day men's fashion event in Florence that ended
Friday.
A special "fashion train" was organized by the two events
to shuttle international fashion press and buyers from Florence
to Milan, which Capasa said "underlines that together we are the
strongest fashion week in the world".
The train was part of an initiative called Expo Experience,
which the two men's fashion events coordinated specifically for
press and buyers, including a custom-tailored guide to Expo with
a starlit dinner that Capasa said would be repeated for women's
fashion week in September.
