Some 100,000 people are attending a
Labor Day concert in the southern Italian city of Taranto,
organizers said Friday.
The May Day concert, which has reached its third edition,
takes place at the city's archaeological park and is presented
by television journalist Valentina Petrini and singer Mietta,
among others.
The Taranto Labor Day concert was organized by the
Committee of Citizens and Free and Thinking Workers, which was
founded three years ago after the government seized the highly
polluting ILVA steel plant.
Artists will include Francesco Baccini, Officina Zoè,
Iosonouncane, Andrea Rivera, Velvet, Ilaria Graziano & Francesco
Forni, Brunori Sas, Diodato, the Bud Spencer Blues Explosion,
Subsonica, LNRipley, Roy Paci Aretuska Allstars, NoBraino,
Marlene Kuntz, Caparezza, Fido Guido and Bestierare.
