American screenwriters,
directors and producers Joel and Ethan Coen will preside over
the jury of this year's edition of the Cannes film festival, the
organisers said Tuesday.
This is the first time the jury has had two presidents.
The nomination follows on from the decision to dedicate the
upcoming 68th edition of the prestigious festival to 'cinema
brothers' to coincide with the 120th anniversary of the
invention of the motion-picture film camera by the Lumiere
brothers Louis and Auguste in 1895.
The other members of the jury and the line up for the
official selection will be announced in mid-April.
The Cannes film festival will run from May 13-24 in the
French riviera resort.
