Pope Francis said that on International Women's day Tuesday he was praying for mothers fleeing with their children in war-torn Ukraine.
"I'm thinking of the young mothers and their children fleeing wars and famines or waiting in the refugee camps. They are so many!", said Francis in a tweet showing him praying in front of an icon of Mary.
The tweet was in the nine official languages of @pontifex, plus Russian and Ukrainian.
"May the Queen of Peace bring concord to our hearts and to the whole world", said the pope.
