Italy's Sofia Goggia dedicated her
victory in Sunday's World Cup downhill at Crans-Montana,
Switzerland, to late TV great Maurizio Costanzo, who died at the
age of 84 last week.
"I did a downhill with a moustache," she said in reference to
Costanzo's distinctive bushy moustache, after heading an Italian
one-two, with Federica Brignone coming second.
The victory helped make up for the disappointment of Goggia
missing out on the medals at last week's world championships and
enabled her to close in on her fourth downhill World Cup title.
She is 179 points clear at the top of the standings after her
fifth downhill victory this season.
It was 22nd World Cup victory in the career of the 2018 Olympic
champion.
