A 14-year-old girl died after being
hit by a train while crossing the railway tracks at a level
crossing with the barriers down, Wednesday night around 7:00 PM
in Cesano Maderno (Monza and Brianza).
Initial reconstructions exclude a voluntary act and it seems
that the young girl was wearing headphones and did not notice
the arrival of the regional train headed to Milan.
At the same point where the girl died, it has emerged that
several similar fatal accidents have occurred, so much so as to
spark controversy among the citizens of the Brianza municipality
of Cesano Maderno.
An agreement for the construction of a railway overpass at that
point in the track, between Ferrovie Nord and the municipal
administration, was reportedly signed just under a year ago.
