Federica Brignone said Tuesday she
didn't know how long it will take her to recover from a bad leg
break but she wouldn't give up.
"We don't know how long it's going to take, we'll take it step
by step and then we'll see, but one thing is sure, I'm not one
to give up," she said on leaving a Milan clinic in a wheelchair
where she had surgery to mend a compound fracture and ligament
rupture of her left leg, sustained in a fall last week.
The 34-uear-old from Val d'Aosta, Italy's most successful woman
skier, said the thought of returning for next year's
Milan-Cortina Olympics "is a stimulus, but I have to get better
first".
Brignone just won her second overall World Cup title along with
downhill, superG and slalom crystal globes.
