A factory worker was killed when an acetylene silo at a former incinerator exploded due to a gas leak on the outskirts of Reggio Emilia on Tuesday.
The incident took place at the Iren ex-incinerator in Via dei
Gonzag in the Sesso district of the Emilian city.
The blast happened while soldering work was being done at the
plant.
No other worker was hurt.
The victim was identified as 42-year-old Silvio Sotgiu,
originally from Sassari.
