Jewelry by top brands, including Cartier, Buccellati, Van Cleef&Arpels, Tiffany & Co, diamonds, vintage pieces and rare colored gemstones will be the highlights of the first Jewelry auction presented by Aste Bolaffi on March 15th at the Grand hotel et de Milan.
The sale will feature more than 400 lots, all from selected private clients, with a combined starting price of over 870,000 euros. The top lots are a platinum ring with an emerald-cut diamond weighing approximately 5.30 carats (starting price 130,000 euros), a spectacular 7.25 carat loose round-cut diamond (starting price 40,000 euros) and a 6.50 carat rectangular-cut emerald of Colombian origin set into a 1960's platinum ring with diamonds (starting price 30,000 euros). This is the most stunning item in the colored gemstone selection thanks to its exceptional clarity.
The auction marks another milestone for Aste Bolaffi after its successes in 2015, including the opening of its photography department and the sale of very important items, including the Nobel Prize medal of Salvatore Quasimodo and the inheritance of former Italian premier and Socialist party leader and Bettino Craxi.
"After a profound and lengthy due diligence," said CEO Filippo Bolaffi, "we officially enter in the international jewels and precious stones market. "The birth of the new department represents another success for Aste Bolaffi. "Our goal is to become the Italian leader in this market".
The morning session will feature jewels with extremely interesting price estimates ,among which area Musy jewelers' pocket watch and a bracelet offered as wedding gifts by King Umberto I of Italy to a noble family of Piedmont, a Patek Philippe pocket watch of the early 1900s with the original box and guarantee (starting price 2,000 euros) as well as a special section dedicated to Mrs Pina Maule Fin's jewels, the proceeds of which will benefit the non-profit organization Area, supporting persons with disabilities.
The second session will propose the top lots and other highlights of the sale, including a platinum bracelet studded with diamonds, for a total weight of over 25 carats, created between 1935 and 1944 with a "Fascio" hallmark (starting price 10,000 euros). A Fabergé box decorated with garlands and bows, centered with the Imperial Eagle, will close the sale (starting price 7,000 euros).
