Rome prosecutors are investigating Interior Minister Angelino Alfano of the New Center Right (NCD) party for abuse of office, sources said Thursday. Deputy Minister Filippo Bubbico, his aide Ugo Malagnino, ex-Democratic Party (PD) Senator Vladimiro Crisafulli, and Kore University President Cataldo Salerno are also being probed in the same case for alleged abuse of office committed December 23, the day cabinet approved the transfer of Prefect Fernando Guida from Enna to Isernia.
Alfano said the incident is "a dead case".
