(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 25 - Former AC Milan, Roma, Juventus, Real
Madrid and England manager Fabio Capello on Friday urged Italy
to adopt a Liverpool style German way of playing after their
shock World Cup exit to North Macedonia, the second straight
time they have failed to qualify for the finals.
Capello said "we're playing football like (ex Barcelona, Bayern
and current Man City boss Pep) Guardiola's teams 15 years ago,
all sideways passes, no forward passes, not much physical force,
a lack of tackles, instead of which we should be following
(Liverpool manager Jurgen) Klopp's model, soccer in the German
way".
He said the only team playing this way in Italy was Atalanta,
and they had the results to prove its success. (ANSA).
