An evening of great music last 31 January at the 'Ilija M. Kolarac' theatre in Belgrade, where, on the occasion of the third Italy-Serbia Business Forum, the Virtuosi del Teatro alla Scala of Milan performed.
The twenty musicians of the famous Italian ensemble conducted by Maestro Massimiliano Caldi performed parts from the most famous Italian operatic and symphonic tradition, ranging from Rossini to Verdi, Respighi to Mascagni and Rota.
The concert, which sold out, was organised by the Italian Embassy in Serbia and the Italian Cultural Institute in Belgrade in cooperation with the Ilija M. Kolarac Foundation.
"The third Italy-Serbia Business Forum, opened by Deputy Prime Minister Tajani and President Vucic, was enriched with a cultural moment of the highest profile thanks to the concert by the Virtuosi del Teatro alla Scala," said the Italian Ambassador to Serbia, Luca Gori. 'The promotion of Italy,' he added, 'cannot ignore culture. Our country plays a leading role in this sector, which is also crucial in strengthening economic relations between Italy and Serbia'.
